Karen Kell has been actively involved in the central Indiana business marketplace for 18 years.  Her background is in Hospitality, Event Planning, Sales, Management, Membership and Member Relations.  She has always had a passion for empowering others, especially women, and building relationships.  Karen’s personal mission is “Making a difference…one person, one day at a time”.   Living this mission lead her to be the first “Rainmaker of the Year” recipient in 2004 and one of the first recipients of the “Relationship Mindset Award” in 2005. 

Karen was a charter member and became very involved with Business Woman Connect; passionate about helping women form relationships that lead to successful personal and business ventures.  Besides her role as President of An Escape Plan Corporation, Karen is also an entrepreneur, partner and consultant with Freedom Profit Recovery.

Jeff Patterson is an accomplished and respected veteran of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department where he is recognized as an expert in the field of Defensive Tactics and Combatives. He is currently assigned to the training division where he is responsible for the development and implementation of Recruit and In–service training. Jeff has numerous certifications in Defensive Tactics and Combatives and is one of few Instructor Trainers on the Monaadnock Expandable Baton.  Although Jeff is responsible for teaching many classes, his main focus is on the IMPD’s Combatives Program. Jeff is a member of an elite cadre of instructors that are certified to teach Vertical, Horizontal, and Transitional Combatives. Although he is certified to teach all three levels of Combatives, his primary focus is on the vertical portion of the program where he has developed and implemented court defensible techniques that are simple to learn and easy to apply in dangerous situations.

Outside the department, Jeff has consulted for Homeland Security on Weapons of Mass Destruction and Terrorism, trained members of the military before deployments, and has conducted training programs for a variety of police/security agencies around the state.

Jeff is the program creator for Escape Plan Corporation where he teaches a three part proactive self defense program called Protective Thinking. He has also catered to a variety of corporations in personalizing self defense policies, as well as hands on training for their employees.
