Personal Information on the Internet by Jeff

For many of us anonymity is the key to life.  We get too secure in the thought that nobody can find us so we think we are safe from the world.  Well, at the risk of bursting your bubbles, I want to shed some light on this myth.  Any personal information provided to subscriber sites are subject to being in public search web sites.  Anyone entering your name can find address, phone number and other personal information about you and your family.

There are many websites you can visit to get personal information.  I tried it and with only a first and last name I was able to obtain the following information:

Address

Phone number

Areal view of the house

In many cases I was able to find out how people lived in the house, their names, and approximate ages.  All this information was free but for just a few dollars you can get more detailed information.

With just a phone number I was able to obtain the following information:

computer security 2 First letter of the First Name

First letter of the Last Name

Age

Gender

Ethnicity

Relationship

Phone Type

Phone Carrier

Location

Median Income

Median Home Value

Remember the more technology you use the more your information is out there.  There are many ways for your information to get into the wrong hands and once it’s out there you can’t get it back.

I have listed a few websites for you.  I urge you to visit these sites just to see how easy it is for YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION to fall into the wrong hands.

this is spot on- i have been the victim of cyber bulying by a brotherinlaw in fact – but it has been pernicious and wholesale abuse using personal information – location websites, phone numbers, emal address identification and hacking. all information was crawled for on the net then used to creat a spoof blog which wreckd my business website. he invented fictitious twitter addresses linked to my small business site ; he even lifted photograph from facebook and portrayed me as a clown ; he alo created videos denigrating me linked to m these blogs.
